Original Homemade Halloween Desserts

a-beautiful-mess-alt-copy.jpg

They’re not like a regular Halloween dessert. They’re cool desserts. Pinterest is an amazing place, let me tell you. I get so “wowed” by seeing all of this creativity, especially with so many original homemade dessert ideas.

Even though I probably won’t make many of these because quite honestly, you lose me if there are more than 3 instructions. But there’s just something about feeling inspired by original, creative holiday ideas. Especially with Halloween, I appreciate any and all decorating tips that stray from the standard bright orange stuff made of plastic.

It’s kind of like watching Christmas movies to get you in the holiday spirit. It doesn’t really mean that you’re going to go ice skating in Central Park, but I definitely want to watch Kate Beckinsale doing it. With that, I give you some totally original homemade Halloween dessert ideas that I bet you’re going to love.

1. Ghost cake toppers.

Yes, these are the cutest simple ghost toppers made of cheesecloth, ever.

2. Pop-tart ghosts.

I loved the sprinkle pop-tarts when I was a kid, but we were only allowed to buy them on very rare occasions. I love seeing throwbacks likes these to our childhood favorites. Brings back so many good memories!

3. Spooky eye cupcakes.

A simple and sweet way to make cookies & cream cupcakes by adding Oreos. I would personally go with double stuffed (just to give the people what they want).

4. Graveyard Peanutbutter Mousse Cups.

Any graveyard Halloween ideas sit well with me. I’ve always liked the scary side of Halloween, and these mousse cups look terrifyingly good! (Ok, that was embarrassing, moving on). I would try a parfait version of this with yogurt and granola crumbles.

5. Ghost milkshakes.

These are so adorable that it makes me want to be the Class Mom at my kid’s school (except I don’t have kids). But it’s confirmed that ghost-anything is the best way to avoid the standard bright orange Halloween foods and desserts.

6. Pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

Come on. The tiny pretzel and the mint leaf!? I am sold.

Multiple layers of chocolate and candy eyeballs. What more could you want?
